1% proposed tax on transactions!!

I urge you to read this and pass it on! This will kill our economy

Hard to believe! What is happening to us?

WATCH OUT - HERE IT COMES AND THERE GOES YOUR HARD EARNED MONIES - JUST SO THEY CAN SPEND IT

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-4646

One percent transaction tax is proposed President Obama's finance team is recommending a transaction tax. His plan is to sneak it in after the November election to keep it under the radar. This is a 1% tax on all transactions at any financial institution. e. Banks, Credit Unions, extra. Any deposit you make, or move around within your account, i.e., transfer to, will have a 1% tax charged. If your pay check or your social Security or whatever is direct deposit, 1% tax charged. If you hand carry a check in to deposit, 1% tax charged, If you take cash in to deposit, 1% tax charged. This is from the man who promised that if you make under $250,000 per year, you will not see one penny of new tax.

Keep your eyes and ears open, you will be amazed at what you learn.

OK, here you are, be sure to check out H.R. 4646

2/23/2010--Introduced. SUMMARY

Debt Free America Act - States as purposes of this Act the raising of sufficient revenue from a fee on transactions to eliminate the national debt within seven years and the phasing out of the individual income tax. Amends the Internal Revenue Code to impose a 1% fee, offset by a corresponding nonrefundable income tax credit, on transactions that use a payment instrument, including any check, cash, credit card, transfer of stock, bonds, or other financial instrument. Defines "transaction" to include retail and wholesale sales, purchases of intermediate goods, and financial and intangible transactions. Establishes in the legislative branch the Bipartisan Task Force for Responsible Fiscal Action to review the fiscal imbalance of the federal government and make recommendations to improve such imbalance. Provides for expedited consideration by Congress of Task Force recommendations. Repeals after 2017 the individual income tax, refundable and nonrefundable personal tax credits, and the alternative minimum tax (AMT) on individuals. Directs the Secretary of the Treasury to: (1) prioritize the repayment of the national debt to protect the fiscal stability of the United States; and (2) study and report to Congress on the implementation of this Act.

THIS 1% in essence is going to be 2% because depositing = 1% and withdrawing = 1% (1+1 = 2%) THIS IS HAS GOT TO STOP. I urge you to write to your local representative urge them to go against this new proposed bill before it is too late!

Oh yeah and this new tax is supposed to get rid of our deficit in 7 years & eventually phase out the income tax!? That is the final wording I’ve found on that. Originally it was supposed to be to offset the bailouts that we gave the bank and other industries. Well if its to reduce the deficit then apparently the Obama administration can’t seem to do simple math. Based on last year's estimates of ($755 trillion in sales/transactions) the government will get over $7.5 trillion in revenue and that's not even including money from the 1% on deposits and withdraws, etc. that's just sales!!

FRIEND COMMENT1:
I've got an idea...... let's limit the number of vacations our government takes in a year. Specifically Obama, oh, and reduce their salaries to the typical American salary, see if they can survive on it. That should bring the deficit down.

MY RESPONSE:
YES! How many vacations has this man been on this year alone? I think my dad and I counted 7... or 8!! & majority of it was in a span of 3 months I think because what he went to Maine, then his wife went to Spain while he went to Middle East area, then golf somewhere? That is a bunch of bullshit! You know if Bush did that he would have been burned at the stake, then brought back to life somehow and then crucified!! Idk how many vacations is normal for a President but come one I know 7 or 8 is way too much. I mean Bush got shit for going on vacations but apparently no one gives a shit about what Obama is doing! & then his wife going on her own vacation right after their family vacation!

You brought up salaries well I have to include this next part lol:

~~~~
I know many of you will say, "this is impossible". Let me remind you, Congress has the lowest approval of any entity in Government, now is the time when Americans will join together to reform Congress - the entity that represents us.
We need to get a Senator to introduce this bill in the US Senate and a Representative to introduce a similar bill in the US House. These people will become American heroes..
THIS SHOULD BE A NEW LAW/REFORM!! NEVER WILL BE BUT JUST FOR HUMOR!
.Congressional Reform Act of 2010
1. Term Limits: 12 years only, one of the possible options below.
A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms
***Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.****
2. No Tenure / No Pension:
A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security:
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, Congress participates with the American people.
4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan just as all Americans.
5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
6. Congress loses its current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
7. Congress must equally abide in all laws they impose on the American people.
8. All contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen; Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.
FRIEND COMMENT2:
Obama has taken a total of 7 vacations *that I know of* and on our watch or rather the failed stimulus packages (you know there's money "missing" fr...om some of them, gee wonder where it went). Also, Bush was burned sooooo badly about Katrina, yes, it was a horrible tragedy but look at the flood in Tennessee, and quite a few other disasters Obama has done nothing about. Celebrities helped clean up the flood in Tennessee where was Obama? On vacation. Where was the media slamming him for not doing anything about Tennessee or better yet, when he told them "no" when they asked for funds to clean up. The media is so fair isn't it? The media isn't bias at all, not one bit, right? (<--- sarcasm).
Wow, I didn't know that about the Congress, good to know :) Also, it's funny how Obama is going around promoting Senators, offering contests to voters so they can meet him. Has he done this in your state? He's done it in mine for Murray *vomits a little*, in my opinion it's the smartest thing he can do, so we know who NOT to vote for! I can't believe people still think this guy is doing a good job. It's not their fault though, they don't want to spend the time it takes to do research, and the news isn't a good source of truth. HAHAHAHA @ that video, amazing isn't it? I'm so posting that to my wall, hope you don't mind. Really annoying, how people still blame Bush when he's not in office anymore, but they figure Obama does it so why can't they? It's all Bush's fault, it had nothing to do with Clinton right? (*gasp* yes, I brought Clinton into this) The media makes me laugh, they say left wingers are bad, did you know that Nazi's were considered leftists? Socialism is a leftist idea... that's what Hitler wanted... funny isn't it?
MY RESPONSE:
Yeah, for sure money is missing! I mean its like they gave the money to a child asked them to bring back receipts but forgot to write down how much they gave the child, which then leaves a great room for error on a true measurement of how much money they spent. Does that make sense? They questioned the secretary in charge of the bailout money and someone asked how much is left or how much was distributed (I forget which question was asked) and the woman didn't even know she stuttered!!? Here she is in charge of the money and she doesn't even have a clue where it is, who it went to, how much was paid back, etc!!
Omg don't get me started on oil crisis in Gulf! well, too late..lol Obama handled that oil spill in the worst possible way. Instead of fixing the problem and then bitching at the people responsible, he bitches at them and does nothing to fix the problem. Plus nobody seems to recall that Obama sent the Swat Team to the oil rig and had them block it off for a good I think it was few hours but it may have been days and then just left the site without any disclosure as to what the hell they were there for. We, and by that I mean the US Navy, had the technology to fix that oil leak, over 40 years ago!! My dad was in the Navy in the 60's and said they had special equipment to fix leaks like that. There was also the 20 or so countries that offered to help us, countries like the Scandinavian countries that have the best, most advanced tech to fix oil spills because their area is much much rougher than the Gulf.
So what does our leader do? He says no!! Why? because of some stupid law in 1920's, Jones Act I believe its called. That states that no foreign ship can be in US waters unless the ship is under union control or owned by a US citizen. Really!!? He denied help that probably could have fixed it in less than a month because of a stupid law, that if you recall Bush signed an executive order to lift the Jones Act for a bit when the Alaskan oil spill happened. He had that situation under control in no time. Yeah, it was less oil and it was limited supply but it was also worse type of oil than the rig explosion, refined oil is very hard to breakdown naturally but crude oil straight from nature/unaltered can be absorbed by bacteria thus recovery time is essentially reduced. Which is why, now if you look at the area, the scientists are baffled by the lack of oil that they were initially saying was going to ruin the ecosystem for a very long time!
Anyways, Obama goes against help, sends attorneys to BP and pretty much starts an act of War against Britain (BP is British, so technically by attacking them with threats could constitute an act of war). Spends all this money trying to punish BP even though they claimed responsibility, Obama made it sound like we are punishing them by "making them pay for the damages" That was all bullshit from Obama's end, BP was already going to pay...and actually if anything Obama screwed investors and the income tax revenue and helped BP make money or at least not lose as much bc he forced them not to pay dividends (so money stays with company, & BP gets to write off a huge expense (great tax benefit. So yeah, in the end Obama wasted money fighting BP legally, didn't do shit to fix oil leak (as fast as he could anyways), ruined people's income from BP dividends. To be honest, I think he used the oil spill to further his political agenda against offshore drilling. Like "See, offshore drilling is bad, look what happened there". So I'm certain that Obama probably prolonged the leak as long as he could, while still looking like he was doing something (and by that I mean he talked which is all he's really good at). But I guess that's just me the weird, crazy, conspiracy nut..lol Wow, I just wrote alot lol.
The media doesn't cover anything anymore, never really did. We have all these different ways to get information and spread information more efficiently and yet the media fails to cover the most important topics, like the start of this thread the 1% tax (that's pretty huge!), or the true nature of the healthcare reform, and the Wall Street reform, or like you said Tennessee flood; but oh the great Obama can support Palestine when they have a flood!? or like you said go on vacation for the hundredth time! So a guy that claims to be American and for the people, is supporting that region more-so than his own country. Just where is allegiance? Doesn't seem like it's our country. Its not just him our government as a whole needs to stop hemorrhaging money to other countries as aid. We need it ourselves and the countries we give it to most of the time are against us!
About the video, yeah, I checked out a bunch of the pjtv.com stuff, its funny and informative. I like the Glenn Beck, Rush, and Coulter one by pjtv.com
Alright, I wrote enough for now lol...I am starting to miss spell as I type, probably a good sign that I'm tired. So I'm off to bed. It was nice sharing ideas again been too long. I'm glad I'm getting this out and you listening and contributing instead of ignoring me and saying I'm crazy...lol Well good night
Thomas Jefferon's words & misc rants
I like what Thomas Jefferson said "A government big enough to supply you with everything you need, is a government big enough to take away everything that you have". We have become too big of a government and your right that is an outrageous bill! My parents came here with NOTHING! absolutely nothing! fled Europe during WWII. They didn't speak English but they managed to get jobs and eventually they learned English and became citizens the proper way. That is the right way of doing things! It is a shame that a family on welfare can have gold necklaces, rings, like kings and queens pretty much laughing at those of us paying for their lifestyle while they sit around and collect those checks and food stamps, etc.
I voted for McCain/Palin too! People said oh, you don't want change! oh you racist, a black man has a shot at president and your going to vote for an old white guy?! wtf!? People are and were too blind by what the controlled media had to say, college campuses promoting Obama to no end. I feel as though I am conservative but I'm thinking I'm also part of the Tea party because I like their views but anyways, back to my point.
I think Obama is buying votes and nobody is evening bitching about it! I mean every politician does it but not on a scale as grand as Obama. Think about it. He's black, he pretty much has their votes/support for most things, he appointed Hispanic judge (there is that group's support), & now there's this bill that will win over the illegals vote/support. Some people call me a conspiracy theorist but I'm just point out facts.
Facts like, nobody is talking about Obama's birth certificate! The most important document and qualification to be president and he is not willing to give it up. There's only one reason, because he knows if we know he was not born here his power is ill-gotten. Hawaii, actually passed a law saying it is illegal to ask for his birth certificate information!! WHAT!! Don't believe me here is link:
http://aconservativeedge.com/2010/03/15/hawaii-vexatious-requestor-bill-aka-make-it-illegal-to-ask-for-obama-birth-certificate-info/
Damn I wrote alot and I went on alot of tangents..lol
Dr. Evil?
Watch this video first then read my post, otherwise you will not know what I am talking about
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PApCMdZQnuQ
I agree with the lobbyist on this one. We are quickly becoming a nanny state. That is not right; people that are so called “protecting us” from ourselves, or “promoting a healthier environment”, etc are taking our freedoms away.
His animosity towards the food industry regulates is dead on. It is not the government's responsibility to say what we can and cannot eat. I recently heard that in New York there is a bill being proposed to ban salt from being used in restaurants! Seriously? That is going too far, we are allowing these lobbyist to crusade for regulation on issues that have nothing to do with the government. The government is getting too big, too fast and making this country weaker in the process.
If I am an obese person who loves salt or fatty foods, etc let me eat that greasy triple patty with extra greasy fries. That is my choice, not the government! I can see giving suggestions or advertisements promoting healthy eating but to make things mandatory like the salt ban is ridiculous! What is next? Banning alcohol again? We already tried that one and it did not work, so why continue to infringe on our freedoms to choose.
These regulations are attacking and taking away our personal freedoms, right from under our nose and nobody seems to care or realize this is happening until it is too late.
The government has no idea what is good or bad for us! Today they say chocolate is bad for you but then tomorrow they will say it is really good for you.
I hate how the government uses scare tactics and claim that things are epidemics or pandemics all to scare us into believing what they believe, which is called brainwashing.
His tactics may be extreme but I do not think that they are exaggerations of what could happen. I do not know if you heard lately, that there is a bill in the works to ban salt in New York restaurants. This is no exaggeration and it is happening right now, right in front of us. The salt is such a small issue, the media does not seem to care about it but it should be a big deal and it is to me because this is one-step closer to totalitarianism. The government will eventually try to regulate everything and we the people are allowing it to happen. I have heard arguments stating, "It’s easier if the government worries about it, that's one less thing I have to worry about." They were referring to healthcare, education, etc. but it can apply to food industry, too. True, it is easier but that is one more choice you lost, how many freedoms are we willing to give up before we realize it is too late?
Welfare Program
Ok, the welfare system is not a completely bad thing, it is the people that abuse it that make it bad & it's a shame because I do feel that sometimes people do need help but government support isn't really the answer. The one thing that bothers me about our welfare system though, comes from the thought of what happened before the great depression, and the creation of the welfare program.
Now I don't have any personal experience in knowing how things ran in the early 20th century but from what I understand people did not need the government's help. They did fine on their own, if we fell under hard times, like say the Great Depression, people did not have money, they lost it to the stock market crash, banks not having their money, etc. There was no welfare system in place and people still made it through the hardships because they would barter their skills, goods, services, etc. for other goods/services. Example: So I am a roofer, you need a roof and you are a farmer, well I will do your roof for some chicken, eggs, milk, etc whatever the farmer is willing to pay and you are willing to accept.
In today's society though, we are all brainwashed to believe we are dependent on the government, and there are still people that aren't like that because they do whatever they can and use the government help as a last resort, if at all. I think the welfare system creates poverty more than it reduces it because a good percentage of people once in the system, stay in the system because if they try to get out of it, it actually hurts them. I know a couple of people that, if they get a job and make $xxx.xx then they lose the support from the welfare system, the money they make when off welfare is not much better than when on the system. So the person usually ends up back into the system because it is easier to stay in the system through loop holes then to work hard and earn the money they get. I know this is a probably very unsympathetic & maybe its because I'm exposed to the corrupt more so than the good but I just don't understand or like how these people on welfare are living better than you and I, welfare is meant to help you get on your feet, not be an alternative to earning money through work. I don't like how the people on welfare, a good number of them wear jewelry like kings/queens, have more food than is necessary (and so some get obese), have shelter paid for by the government, etc. I've seen people abuse the system so much at the grocery store that they share the food stamps with their families or use it for their friends, that is not fair to the tax payers who pay into the system through taxes, medicare, social security, etc.
Ok, I think i'm done with this subject for now, lol
What happened to US?
This country was founded by our forefathers who set the government to be a republic with limited powers to protect the rights of the people and to uphold the law which is the Constitution. We are so far from that ideal that it ridiculous. We are allowing this once great nation (well its still great for the most part) to be ruled by the few (minority voices). This is not a democracy, I do not think the forefathers ever meant it to become like this. A democracy is the rule of the people, but with that in mind. If you have a thief and a town catches them and they vote to kill him then they kill him, democracy wins. Iin a Republic if they catch the person and vote to kill them, and they do, they would violate the law because the law says that everyone deserves a fair trial.
This nanny state is upsetting me because instead of protecting the general public they exploit it for their own gains. We are so close to oligarchy, small group rule, that its not funny because its happening right in front of our nose under the cloak of __(fill in the blank)__ Act, all these Federal regulations that create loop holes upon loop holes that just manifest a massive amount of money being wasted in the name of protection or safety which hardly ever reduces the risk or danger.
Then there's failing programs that aim to educated children by keeping them in school, great idea but terrible when run by government. AND WE VOTE THESE PEOPLE THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE OUR INTEREST IN MIND, IN TIME AND TIME AGAIN! We need to elect 545 new people into congress that will follow the guidelines that our forefathers set up. There is nothing wrong with the constitution, it is the idiots interrupting it in Washington.
Every time I write against what the media controlled populous tells us is the truth, I get my ear talked off on how I'm insensitive to people in need especially when I start ranting and raving about how I am also against the welfare system, I think it just breeds laziness, but I will not talk about that now because then this post will be way longer..lol.
Anyways back on track, I hate people telling me that these social programs that this government is creating is the best thing in the world saying it is helping us all be equal, closing the gap between the rich and the poor, comparing us to other countries like (recently Canada, UK, Australia, etc in regards to Healthcare (don't get me started on that one, that's for another time). I'm going to say this right now, this is the United States of America, not whatever country you are comparing us to. If the other countries are so much better move there or shut up!
Ok now that, that's out, we are not equal, yes we were created equal and I do believe in the Constitution but we really are not truly equal if you think about it. I do not speak of sex, race, etc., that is not the issue I am trying to convey. The issue is a different type of equality. If we were equal then there would be no creativity, ambition to do better, etc. Look what happens in countries with Socialism or Communism, there is no incentive to be creative or competitive, free market, Capitalism, etc. is really the only form of government that allows for innovative thinking. Capitalism is not about equality; if you put effort in, most likely you will get a return but if you don't put any effort in don't expect something in return (that's much different than the mind set now isn't it?). Our nation has rewarded people that scream entitlement, NO! you aren't entitled to anything, unless you earned it. My parents came to America with nothing, worked hard, made a living, started a family, saved, were responsible, THESE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT EARNED IT. They could have easily been lazy like we are today, give me, give me. NO! that is our problem; fix that mentality and it will make a huge dent into our nation's problems.
The great thing about this country is (or was) that if you have a dream or idea go for it, if it works and makes you money and you get rich off of it, good for you BUT if it fails, don't go crying to big brother and cry for regulation or laws to help you and punish the cruel, greedy person who took the same risk as you but succeeded, that is not greed, & being wealthy is not mean you are greedy! That is why its called risk, nothing is free in life but our government sure thinks differently and convincing more and more people to believe the same. My question is, who is paying for all this free stuff, WE THE TAXPAYERS!, so in the end we all pay so that the lazy people in society can live more comfortably and be equal to those that work hard and earn their living. Does that make sense?
Hope you enjoyed this. If you want more, let me know, I seem to be good at writing a descent size reaction to current politics...lol
Good night, because its already 1 am...lol
Edge of Darkness
This was a good Mel Gibson film. He is always making good movies, with meanings behind everything. Many of his films make you think and this one is no different. This movie revolves around trying to find his daughter's killers and bringing them to justice, but not the legal kind. It really draws you in, every new scene has something crazy going on; adding new questions as to what happened. Mel Gibson was crazy as any father would be if his daughter were shot and killed in front of him. He let nothing stop him from finding the truth. I recommend this movie if you like Mel Gibson, but like any movie this movie is not for everyone. The ending has a couple of twists from what you would expect but it was very good. Also this movie makes you think about the corruption of big business and the governments of the world. Hope you enjoy the movie.
Dear John
Coming from a guy's perspective, I like the movie. I mean it was a typical romance where a guy meets girl and they fall in love over a break that the two have. He was on leave from the army and she on spring break. They fall in love instantly but then there is the separation he had to go back on duty and she to school. They start writing letters to become closer. Without ruining the whole story they start going through some rough times and this movie follows the rough time John has in the army without her and vaguely touches on the girl's view. They mention it here and there but it mainly follows John's perspective. This movie has it's moments that brought some tears to my eyes. I did not read the book, although I am going to make it a goal to read it and compare it.
Book of Eli
This was a good movie. I wouldn't say it was Denzel Washington's (Eli) best performance but I think it was up there. I think many people that I've talked to who hate this movie hate it because it was a bit slow and it is religious. The plot was pretty good. The religious meaning behind it revolves around the last bible known to man and how it can be used to either save humanity or drive it even further into a world of hell. Without ruining the ending it is one of those, pause and think about it and say, wow! I can't believe this.
Legion Review
I would give this movie a C+. It is a movie about God losing faith in humanity, so he sends his angels to wipe out humanity just like he did during the flood times and Archangel Michael does not like this and decides to defy God by trying to protect the humans by protecting an 8 month pregnant woman carrying a child that is supposed to be humanity's last hopes. Unfortunately, the movie does not explain who the child is or what he will do. I do have to admit the story is a bit slow and the character development could have been done better. The story overall is unique in that instead of the demons being the "bad" guys in this, it is actually the "angels". I don't want to ruin the whole movie or anything. I just wanted to say that it could have had more action.
Anyone about to see this movie I do have to warn, there is not a whole lot of action. It is a movie that bases its plot in the emotions of the brink of humanity's survival. There are parts that are funny such as the old lady telling the girl she is going to die (probably the most memorable part of the movie because it is just so funny and messed up).
I hope this review helps anyone who is thinking of seeing it. If you have seen it feel free to comment.
