Edge of Darkness

This was a good Mel Gibson film. He is always making good movies, with meanings behind everything. Many of his films make you think and this one is no different. This movie revolves around trying to find his daughter's killers and bringing them to justice, but not the legal kind. It really draws you in, every new scene has something crazy going on; adding new questions as to what happened. Mel Gibson was crazy as any father would be if his daughter were shot and killed in front of him. He let nothing stop him from finding the truth. I recommend this movie if you like Mel Gibson, but like any movie this movie is not for everyone. The ending has a couple of twists from what you would expect but it was very good. Also this movie makes you think about the corruption of big business and the governments of the world. Hope you enjoy the movie.

Dear John

Coming from a guy's perspective, I like the movie. I mean it was a typical romance where a guy meets girl and they fall in love over a break that the two have. He was on leave from the army and she on spring break. They fall in love instantly but then there is the separation he had to go back on duty and she to school. They start writing letters to become closer. Without ruining the whole story they start going through some rough times and this movie follows the rough time John has in the army without her and vaguely touches on the girl's view. They mention it here and there but it mainly follows John's perspective. This movie has it's moments that brought some tears to my eyes. I did not read the book, although I am going to make it a goal to read it and compare it.
